Wii Controllers

The Wii Game System has two main controllers. One is the Wii remote, which is used as the primary controller for most games. The second is the Wii nunchuk, which is a secondary controller used in some games that require an extra controller. For example, the Wii Boxing game requires the use of a remote and a nunchuk for each player.

Some games require the use of the Wii classic controller instead. If you wish to purchase a particular Wii game, make sure you have the controller it requires. In almost all cases you will be fine, the only exception being in cases where the game requires the classic controller and you don't have it, since the classic controller does not ship with the basic Wii Game System or with the simplest Wii Bundles.
